Tom Koplitz-Cambridge

Tom has played in every level of amateur baseball from tee ball through town ball.  He played high school baseball at Bloomington Lincoln from 1968-1970 and American Legion for the Bloomington Blues.  Tom played college baseball at Augsburg where he broke up Dave Windfield’s perfect game with a single in the last inning of a game against the Gophers in 1973.  Tom has coached and managed at every level in Cambridge from tee ball through town ball and currently manages the Rum River Bandits.  Tom started the Special Olympics program at Cambridge State Hospital and Cambridge public schools in 1976.  He was named Minnesota Special Olympics Coach of the Year in 1986.  His glove for Troops Drive sent used baseball gloves to the 850th Horizontal Engineer Company in Afghanistan.
