RICHARD NEWMAN- , MADISON--- 2010

Dick began his baseball career when he played park board baseball in Minneapolis and high school baseball at Minneapolis Edison. He played amateur baseball in Rosen and later was a player manager for Madison. Dick has coached high school baseball for 25 years; legion baeball for 20 years, recreation baseball for 20 years and he also organized a VFW team. He also has been involved as an umpire and with field maintenance. For the past 15 years, he has broadcast baseball games. He is the chairman of the Southwest Initiative Foundation for the pormotion of baseball which has helped to raise money to get new lights, repair the grandstand, add a sprinkler system, a new scoreboard and improvements to the concession stands and dugouts.
