Roger Fregin--- Flensburg - Randall

Roger Fregin

Roger has a passion for baseball that began at a very early age in Randall Minneota. He played high school baseball for the Little Falls Flyers and helped the Flyers to a state championship win over Minnetonka in 1979. He continued his baseball career at Saint Cloud State University from 1979-1981. He played amateur baseball for eighteen years, twelve years for the Flensburg Falcons and six years for the Randall Cubs. After graduating from Saint Cloud State, he was hired as an elementary teacher in Randall. Roger is very active in the Little Falls community. He coached and helped to develop the Junior Victory Leage, a league that provides baseball orpportunities for players in Morrison County in grades two through eight. He is a supporter of the Little Falls Flyers Booster Club. Roger was inducted into the Little Falls High School Halll of Fame

 

   
   

 

 

 

----Dave "Ponch" Rausch - Richmond

Ponch played Pee Wee, Midget, Little League and high school baseball in Cold Spring. He played amateur baseball from 1963-1992 for the Richmond Royals. He managed the Richmond Royals from 1991-1997 and 1999. As the Richmond manager, the Royals participated in the State Tournament six out of nine years. Ponch was involved in many Richmond Royal park improvements including: electronic scoreboard, uner ground sprinkler system, new grandstands and restrooms. He was instrumental in fundraising through the Richmond Lions for the improvements. He has been an umpire from 1998 to 2016. He served in the United States Navy, and he is a member of the American Legion. He was a Richmond City Council member for twenty one years. He is an active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond where he served on the parish council.

--Doug Schuette-- Brownton

Doug Schuette

Doug has been involved with baseball all of his life. He played third base for his high school team the Brownton Bears and during the summer for the Brownton Legion team. Doug played amateur baseball for the Brownton Bruins for eight years before assuming the position of player / manager which he held for seventeen years before becoming the full time manager for the past thirty one years. As manager he is in charge of the schedule, field preparation, and all major work on the field. Doug has served as tournament chair or co-chair of field preparation for American Legion tournaments and for four Minnesota State Amateur tournaments. He has served as a league officer. Doug was the Brownton Legion coach for thirty plus years. He is an active member in the Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served as a deacon. 

 

 

 

Dave Sell- GLENCOE

Dave Sell

Dave played baseball in Glencoe in Pee Wee, Midgets, VFW, Legion, and high school. After high school he played for Anoka Ramsey Community College and Mayville State. He played amateur baseball for the Glencoe Brewers. He has been involved with the Brewers since 1982 as a player or manager and helped guide them to a State Class C Championship in 1998. Dave currently coaches Junior Varsity baseball at Glencoe- Silver Lake High School. Dave has coached baseball in the community education program and for the past ten years has help with a wood bat tournament for 10-15 year olds. Dave is an active member of the Glencoe baseball board and has a passion for the care of Vollmer Field. He has been a tournament director for four state amateur baseball tournaments co-hosted in Glencoe.
